Thomas named alternate for CJP Basketball

Breaking news out of Lawrence, Kansas: Team Curtis J. Phillips has named Topeka native Mario Thomas as their official alternate for the 2012 Spring Basketball Season. Due to the team only carrying seven active players this season, team officials felt it was necessary to add an alternate player incase of player shortage throughout the season. Team CJP general manager Daniel Sondreal had the following to say after the announcement of Thomas' addition to the team, "I don't know much about Mario other than he is a city league ref, that his city league team a few years back beat ours, and that he plays pickup ball with a few of us on Thursday nights. However I do know that he may provide us with our first playmaking point guard since Chris Wallace." Thomas will wear the number five jersey when fills in for team CJP.
